Not everything expensive is worth it.
But some things? Absolutely worth the splurge.
After three years of parenting and way too much trial and error, here’s the gear that justified every dollarβand what wasn’t worth the hype.
Worth Every Penny
1. UPPAbaby VISTA Stroller
Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, it’s worth it.
We’ve used ours for 3+ years, through two kids, and it still works perfectly. The build quality is unmatched, it handles like a dream, and it converts to a double stroller.
2. Graco 4Ever DLX Car Seat
One seat from infant to booster. Easy to install, comfortable for the kid, and great safety ratings. We have two and they’ve been bulletproof.

3. Hatch Rest Sound Machine
The app control is a game-changer. Adjust the sound and light from your phone without opening the door. Worth it for that alone.

4. Nugget Couch
Kids play on this daily. Build forts, jump on it, use it for movie nights. It’s held up incredibly well and gets more use than any toy we own.

Not Worth the Premium
- Expensive baby clothes β They outgrow them in weeks. Target/Old Navy works fine.
- Fancy bottle warmers β Hot water in a mug does the same thing.
- High-end baby monitors with all the features β Basic video monitor is all you really need.
- Designer diaper bags β A good backpack works better and costs less.
The Middle Ground
Some things are worth mid-range but not top-tier:
- High chair β IKEA Antilop () works as well as the options
- Baby carrier β Ergobaby is great, but there are solid options at half the price
- Toys β Kids don’t care about brands. Wooden blocks are wooden blocks.
Final Thought
Splurge on things you’ll use daily for years.
Save on things they’ll outgrow in months.
That’s the formula.
